 You must be a member of First Community Credit Union, whose corporate office is located in Houston, TX, for at least 90 days to qualify. We award up to seven $8,000 scholarships that are paid out in $2,000 increments over four years of education. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior attending school is one of the 41 Texas counties we serve.

Once you register, enter the application portal and follow the step-by-step process.
Gather the following items in order to complete the scholarship application
  • SAT / ACT scores & dates taken
  • Name of College/University you are planning to attend
  • Total Cost per semester 
  • Employment Information (if applicable)
  • Name / email address for 2 Recommendations
    (Personal & Professional)
Having the information together ahead of time will make the process go quickly and easily.

Trade School Scholarship

If you are a graduating high school senior attending school in one of the 41 Texas counties we serve and are pursuing the next steps to achieve the skills needed to be licensed in a specialty career through an accredited trade school program, apply for our Trade School Scholarship. 

Eligible applicants must be striving to complete trade school in Automotive Maintenance, HVAC, Information Technology, Healthcare, Cosmetology, Welding, Plumbing, Construction, or Culinary. We award a scholarship up to $4,000 or up to 100% of the program cost, paid in up to two increments.  

PLEASE NOTE,  the Trade School Scholarship is for a 2-year trade school program only and not for a 4-year university. If you are seeking a scholarship for a 4-year college or university, refer to our First Community Cares Foundation Scholarship by clicking here.
